Lesson 44 - Asking someone who their three (or more) friends are

This week's post follows on from the last two lessons.

To ask and answer the question 'Who are your (two) friends?' for three or more friends the process is:

Ko wai o hoa? (macron above the 'o') - Who are your friends?
Ko Ally ratou ko Poppy, ko Luke, ko Brett aku hoa (macron above the first 'a' in 'ratou') - Ally, Poppy, Luke and Brett are my friends.

When answering:

• 'o' (your) is replaced with 'aku' (my).
• The question word 'wai' is replaced with the name of the two friends (in this case, 'Ally and Poppy').
• 'ratou ko' (macron above the first 'a' in 'ratou') becomes 'and'.
