Lesson 5 - Greeting more than one type of person (children, friends, girls, etc)

Lesson 4 looked at greeting individuals by what they are for the following groups:

kare - close friend
hine - girl (short for kōhine)
tama - boy
whaea - mother
tangata - person
pakeke - adult
wahine - woman
koroua - elderly man
tamariki - children
matua - father

This week goes over how to greet more than one boy, girl, friend, etc. The process is quite simple, simply add 'mā' onto the end of the greeting. For example:

Kia ora e tama - Hi boy
Kia ora e tama mā - Hi boys.
